«Magnesium octoate»
“Khimpostavschik” produces magnesium octoate which is a composition of oxidized plant oils and magnesium 2- ethylhexanoate. Magnesium octoate is used as a surfactant in production of PVC filled materials.

Recommendations
This product is used when preparing suspension of pigments and fillers in dioctylphthalate plasticizer, in particular, to increase filling and to impart fluidity to the suspension of chalk and titanium dioxide in the plasticizer in production of table oil cloth. Use of magnesium octoate in ptoduction of these type products allows decreasing PVC content of the formulation owing to cheaper fillers without sacrificing physical and mechanical properties of the film.
« Magnesium octoate'' is used instead of earlier ''magnesium naphthenate».
According to its toxicological properties ''magnesium naphthenate'' belongs to hazard class 3; its iodometric scale color exceeds 800 units.
''Magnesium octoate'' is superior to ''magnesium naphthenate'' in the following charactesitics:
- iodometric scale color max. 80 units;
- less toxic (hazard class 4);
- has better surface activity which results in 2 times lower consumption as compared to magnesium naphthenate. .
Consumption rate of magnesium octoate is 2,0-3,0 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of PVC.
